Everyday-language text classes are distinguished by the identity and number of producers and recipients, by the channel and by the particular relations present between the components - definiteness or anonymity of producer and recipient and the nature of their contact (visual, aural, temporal) during communication. • Function. In cases like Instruction Manual, Advertisement, or Death Notice, the function is clearly determined and can be used to attribute texts to the type.
