Conventional textual content kinds (or genres) are advanced linguistic, sociocultural and cognitive phenomena which can simply be analysed in versatile interdisciplinary frameworks fusing structural and process-oriented ways and mixing quantitative description with qualitative interpretation and evaluate. The theoretical and methodological implications of the prototypical textual content style idea that is constructed during this ebook are explored in an exhaustive case research of a consultant (ie prototypical) style: the marriage record, a standard form of information record released in neighborhood English newspapers. The designated contextual and textual gains — situational context, textual content construction methods, functionality, thematic constitution, and shape at the macro- and microlevel — are analysed synchronically and diachronically. The linguistic findings are built-in right into a finished view of the interaction among the style as a linguistic body and its sociocultural context. The research places certain emphasis on addressing the methodological difficulties bobbing up from the inherent fuzziness of conventional textual content forms, and will hence function an in depth operating version of style research, designed to be tailored to the categorical requisites of comparable reviews.

III. C will present some of these approaches by means of illustration. My own case study of the Wedding Report will be complemented by the comparative use of related types. The corpus analysis is supported by theoretical discussions of the relative importance of various text type characteristics for text type studies in general. Finally, the deductive method will be used whenever arguments are derived from other textlinguistic studies or from general text-theoretical postulates. B. Different Criteria in Text Type Description In principle, texts can be grouped into types on the basis of a potentially unlimited number of common features.
